Yanmar TL65RS — Basic Operation & Maintenance

This guide covers basic operation and daily care. Always follow the safety decals and operator’s manual supplied with the machine. If anything is unclear, call us before operating the equipment.

The TL65RS uses Yanmar's 4TN86CHT diesel engine and a radial-lift loader-arm design.

Before Starting

Before each shift:

• Look for leaks or visible damage.
• Inspect the tracks for damage, looseness, and packed debris.
• Check engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil, and fuel.
• Inspect visible hydraulic hoses and cylinders.
• Clean debris from cooling-system screens and air inlets.
• Check the work area for people, utilities, holes, slopes, and unstable ground.

Do not continue if you find a significant leak, damaged track, damaged hydraulic component, or serious warning.

Starting & Controls

Use the steps and handholds when entering. Fasten the seat belt and satisfy the machine's operator-restraint/interlock system before enabling movement.

The TL65RS has electronic joystick controls and can be configured for ISO or H-pattern operation. Verify the selected control pattern before operating the loader. The machine also allows adjustment of control response and speed, so operate slowly until you are familiar with its current settings.

Operating Basics

• Keep the bucket or load low while traveling.
• Slow down before turning, especially on rough ground.
• Avoid abrupt steering changes on slopes.
• Avoid traveling sideways across steep slopes.
• Keep everyone clear of the loader arms and working area.
• Never work or stand beneath raised loader arms.
• Do not carry passengers.
• Avoid operating beyond the machine's capacity or stability limits.

Its approximately 2,100-lb. rated operating capacity is a standardized machine rating, not a safe lifting limit for every load or position.

Daily Care

Check fluids, tracks, hydraulic components, and the cooling system each day. Remove accumulated dirt, vegetation, and other material from the cooling package and machine.

For longer rentals, follow the lubrication instructions provided with the machine or call us for the appropriate greasing schedule. Do not mix or add unknown hydraulic oil, engine oil, coolant, or grease.

DPF & Emissions

The TL65RS's Yanmar engine uses a DOC and diesel particulate filter to meet emissions requirements. The DPF system is designed to manage regeneration during normal operation.

If the display indicates a DPF problem, requests a manual or parked regeneration, or the engine begins losing power because of an emissions warning, park the machine safely and call us. Do not repeatedly interrupt regeneration or attempt to override an emissions warning.

Stop Operating and Call Us If

Stop safely if you notice:

• A serious warning light or message
• Engine or hydraulic overheating
• A significant fluid leak
• Track damage or derailment
• Loss of hydraulic functions
• Unusual noises or severe vibration
• A DPF warning that does not clear

Do not attempt major repairs unless specifically authorized.

Shutdown & Transport

Park on firm, reasonably level ground. Lower the loader arms and bucket completely, engage the parking controls, idle briefly after heavy operation, shut the engine off, and remove the key.

The machine weighs roughly 8,600 - 8,900 lb. depending on configuration before some equipment is added. Verify the actual weight, trailer rating, tow-vehicle capacity, and securement requirements before transporting it.
